Márianna Csóti
Born in the London Borough of Harrow, to a Hungarian refugee father and an English mother, Márianna Csóti, began to write short stories for publication in her teens. Although these were not published she never lost her enthusiasm for words and later used skills she had picked up in her profession as a secondary school teacher and mother, to write assertiveness and social skills courses for children and young adults.
Márianna Csóti has now achieved the publication of ten books, all of which are helpful to people and draw on psychology, in particular social psychology.
For six years, Márianna Csóti also worked as a houseparent in the residential international sixth form college, United World College of the Atlantic, being involved in the pastoral care of 48 16-20 year-olds. She gained valuable counselling skills and much insight into the problems facing this age group.
Currently, she is based in Cardiff and loves the city finding the people to be very friendly and approachable.
Her books to help children are all practical in nature and very complete requiring no further research even for discussion questions. Her books to help adults are also practical and down-to-earth containing tips and ideas anyone can use.
I believe that those of us who have the means, should help support those around us who are less advantaged than ourselves in whatever way. We should treat every person with respect and try to reserve judgement, especially when of things or experiences we don't understand. We need to be kind and tolerant of others regardless of race, creed, sexuality and disability, and work at improving our relationships, as it is these that get us through the trials of life.
We all need a helping hand at times and I hope, through my books, I help others either directly because they have read the books themselves or indirectly because someone else has read the books and has used the ideas to help them.
